Arrival at Cape Town International Airport. Let us know beforehand your flight details and we’ll be sure to meet you at the arrival gate ready to take you to our accommodation according to itinerary.

In the evening we’ll be doing some food and a bit of an introduction to your crew for the next 2 weeks. Careful on the drinks because tomorrow we start pretty early.

Who has really been to Cape Town if they haven’t experienced it’s epic peninsula? You’re going to and then some.

Chapmans Peak drive, Cape Point, Boulders Beach and it’s local penguin colony, SUP’ing in Simons Town, Muizenberg and some brewskies in Kalk Bay.

So much to see, do and experience!

All local Capetonians marvel at their mountain. Today you’ll find out why, because we’re going up to the top.

First item on today’s itinerary; we kick things off by visiting a local craft market with amazing food and unique goods followed by a local street art tour and a wine farm visit for a little tasting (and dutch courage) before heading up Table Mountain.

Marvel at the spectacular view, discover some of the local inhabitants (locals refer to them as dassies) and then we’re on to a local craft brewery for a sampling of their ales and a local styled braai.

Today is our last day in Cape Town and we give you the opportunity to experience it for yourself at your own pace on the My Citi Hop-on/Hop-off Bus.

We start today’s itinerary off by visiting Cape Town’s iconic V&A Waterfront for a morning stroll where you’ll find awesome food, curios and performers each of which is truly South African.

When you’re done, hop on the bus and go and see anything that you think you might have missed out on. There’s also the chance to do some other trips which our leaders can help organise for you. Robben Island anyone?

Try get back by 6pm because we’ve got a secret sundowner session planned for everybody!

Bye-Bye Cape Town, our road trip must begin! First stop is the whale nursery of the world, Hermanus! We’ll be taking a leisurely and scenic drive to Hermanus to do some of the world’s best shore-based whale watching.

Monta-who? Your trip to South Africa isn’t complete without a visit to it’s smaller “dorpies” and Montagu is no exception. Where it lacks in size, it makes up for in charm and awesomeness!

Nestled in the mountains, Montagu is our start for the lesser known Route 62 which we’ll use to make our way to the Garden Route!

Itinerary

This is our longest driving day, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be seeing the countryside from inside of the car.

We’ll be visiting Barrysdale, the Cango Caves, Ronnies sex shop and Oudtshoorn as we make the trek to the beach.

Itinerary

We’ve made it to the beach, there’s no need just yet to jump back on the road. You’ve got the day in Sedgefield to enjoy a beach walk, kayak river cruise or simply laze in the sun. This is what holidays are for!

On the way to Natures Valley we go through Knysna, renowned for its oysters and the infamous Knynsa Heads, you’ll get to experience both on a lagoon boat trip and oyster tasting at a local farm. A unique day for any backpackers itinerary to South Africa, get IG ready!

Itinerary

It’s called Nature’s Valley for a reason because you’re totally surrounded by it. Dense forest, massive trees, waterfalls, beaches and more. We spend a full day here for you to unplug, chillout and hit the reset button. Go hug some trees!

Now that you’re feeling all zen, it’s time to turn up the adrenalin a notch. We’re going to be passing the world’s highest bridge bungee jump and we absolutely recommend that everybody gives it a go! If not for you, you can watch those who dare at the awesome restaurant alongside of it.

This is a life changing adrenalin rush and you’ll only have one opportunity to do it before we head on to the Surfari!

Jbay is SA’s surf capital and we’re going to catch some waves!

Surf’s up! Spend today hanging out on the beach and taking it all in because it’s a picturesque setting. For anybody looking for a bit of retail therapy, all the surf brands have outlets here for you to check out.

Get your binoculars and camera ready it’s safari time! Addo Elephant park is South Africa’s 3rd largest national park and home to the Big 7. Let’s see if we can spot all of them while we’re here.

Elephant, lions, leopard, rhino, buffalo and the extra 2. Do you know what they are?

According to the itinerary, our final stop of the trip is the lesser known Kenton-on-Sea, set between 2 rivers with epic stretches of beach and spectacular scenery, this is the ideal place to finish off the amazing trip while you plan what’s next on your South African adventure!

Beach walks, river cruises and socialising with the awesome group you’ve come to know, this is what memories are made of!

We love this town so much that we had to feature it as the epic culmination of our trip.

Take it all in at this stretch of the Sunshine Coast, we’ll be super busy here enjoying a safari river cruise, unbelievable beach strolls, chilled out vibes at some local hangouts and all round good times with our awesome group!

In our itinerary, we’ll be making a brief night stop in Port Elizabeth for an awesome closing party to end off the trip as you prepare to say your farewells to your new group of friends.
